#3 Hemp Seed Oil

As of late, I've been blessed to have gotten to try several new things from Plant Therapy. In my last post, i mentioned you can fin carrier oils in the accessories section of the site, when they are actually under BODY. CARE.

Today's post is about their Hemp Seed Oil. It's a very unique oil. It has a very light, "green" smell, and is a thick and viscous oil. It blends VERY well as a carrier oil, though like i said, you don't need much of it due to how thick it is. The cool thing about this oil is that it contains zero THC. As an herbalist, I can confirm that the seeds of the hemp plant (which is a sort of cousin to marijuana, but much more fiberous) contain very little THC and heat treating them would essentially remove whatever is left (THC is a very heat-sensitive compound).

The oil itself is a bit of a surprising color. It's sort of a dark, murky green. But don't be put off, This oil is most excellent. Don't judge it by it's funky color, just give it a chance. As with all oils, keep it away from your clothing or it will stain them.

Overall, I'm really liking this oil and dare i say, I'm enjoying pairing it with patchouli because it makes a WONDERFUL scent and makes me feel like a bit of a hippie.

Disclaimer: Once again, not a doctor, just an herbalist. I'm happy to help you manage your conditions, but for the love of fluffy bunnies, please also consult your physician too. I know herbs and oils, they known the human body in all its functions and interactions. Please do not assume I am a physician, because I am very much not.

#2 Patchouli oil

I was lucky enough to get to try some Plant Therapy's wonderful, high quality, dark patchouli oil. It smells fantastic, with an immediate earthy scent and a bit of musk. I love it, it smells delicious and I put it in diffuser locket right away. It's excellent for anxiety and for small cuts and scrapes. You should all go check out plant therapy right now. Their prices are beyond reasonable and their oils therapeutic. They are by far one of the best oil sites put there.

They also have a line of products that are safe to use with childen. We swear by Calming the Child. #Wildboy is very active and seems to have inherited my insomnia, so it's really difficult for us both to sleep. We use CtC on him and a special blend for me (vetiver, ylang ylang, patchouli, frankincense and roman chamomile). It helps, but sometimes we just wake up at 0500 and it's too dark to find out oils. Like right now! Lol

Anyway, Plant Therapy comes with a shining recommendation from me. You get fast answers from their customer service and they are VERY devoted to helping their customers. Even if you're new to oils, there's something there for you. A carrier oil (under accessories) or something like oregano that you could use to spice up your cooking would be great things for beginners to try. Just don't put oregano oil on your skin undiluted, please! Another good starter oil is lavender, which you can blend with a nice carrier like Sweet Almond Oil and that's perfect for putting on your skin!

I also cant say enough about their diffuser lockets. Best. Invention. Ever. I put an oil in it and it usually diffuses all day and part of the night. Right now, i have patchouli and clove bud oil in mine right now. I need to find my son's so I can put it on a cord he cant break. He snapped both chains within five minutes, like most 4 year olds are prone to do. But now he thinks I "stole" his locket, because we have the same kind. #wildfamilybonding

I hope you enjoyed this post, and that it inspires you to adventure into the world of oils. If you have any questions, like what oil would be good for a particular condition or if you're curious what oils go well together, what's safe to put on your skin neat*, what dilution rates are, etc., please dont be afraid to comment or send me an emailmar crossroadcat@gmail.com

Disclaimer: I am NOT a doctor. My advice should never, ever, replace the advice of a professional physicial. I am an herbalist. I know plants and oils, but doctors know things like how your liver functions and how your endocrine system works. If you have a physical or emotional problem I am more than happy to help you manage it with oils and herbs, but please also talk to your physician.

#1 Throwback Nerds

I almost walked past these at the store, then the bright design and word "throwback" caught mg eye! I've always been a fan of throwback/old school products, the best being throwback coke. SO DELICIOUS!

Anyway, the nerds were like an explosion of flavor and they brought back a taste of my childhood. Those lumpy little candies made me so happy. In fact, I'm eating them as I type this review.

I'm going to sign off and enjoy these delicious Wonka candies!
